Esmeralda and her friends Harry the Hammerhead and Danny the Angler Fish are Surface 71’s sculptures made out of trash from our ecosystem! In the past, they’ve been to the South Florida Science Center, the Palm Beach County History Museum, and Loggerhead Marina. Right now, they’re at Limestone Creek Elementary School!
On April 30th, 2022 Surface 71 partnered with YSA for Global Youth Service Day at Gaines Park!
On March 13th, 2022 Surface 71 partnered with YSA and the Beach Bucket Foundation for a great clean up at Phipps Ocean Park!
On February 6th, 2022 Surface 71 partnered with the Perry J. Cohen Foundation and the Beach Bucket Foundation in honor of Perry's 21st birthday at Juno Beach Park. With over 100 community members, the clean up was a great way to remember Perry and what he enjoyed, the beach.
On February 5th, 2022 Surface 71 partnered with the City of West Palm Beach to paint storm drains with sustainability messages. These will help to bring awareness to our water pollution issues and help others think sustainably. Thank you to our artists!
On January 17th, 2022 Surface 71 hosted a clean-up at Currie Park in remembrance of Martin Luther King. We enjoyed bringing our community together as a kick off this semester of service!

Palm Beach County hosted a World Oceans day Cleanup & Celebration on Tuesday, June 8th 2021 from 1pm-4pm at Coral Cove Park and Intra-Coastal Waterway. This was a fun waterway cleanup for all ages!
On Saturday, April 24th from 8:30am to 10:30am, Surface 71 hosted a clean-up at Dreher Park in conjunction with Keep Palm Beach County Beautiful! We want to thank the Charles Stewart Mott Foundation and Youth Services America for their help and support!
On Tuesday, March 9th from 9am to 12pm, Surface 71 presented at this year's Broward Youth Climate Summit. The third annual Youth Climate Summit provided a platform for students grades 5-12 to advocate for policy change and gave students a voice for promoting environmental sustainability.
On Sunday, February 28th from 8:00am to 11:00am, Surface 71 partnered with Upcycle for a clean-up along Clematis Street!
Surface 71 had a beach clean-up at the beach off Summa Street WPB and the intercostal. Thank you to those who joined us!
Pop-up books made by Roger Culbertson were donated to Surface 71 to help disseminate their impact. These books have recently been donated by Surface 71 to Westward Elementary and Roosevelt Elementary. We are excited to continue to sell and donate these books throughout the community.

The ANGARI Foundation produced three livestream Q&A's with marine science and tech experts. The topics are Shark Toxicology on March 11th at 1:30pm, Underwater Archaeology on April 8th at 1:30pm, and Lionfish Invasion on May 6th at 1:30pm.
