Esmeralda and her friends Harry the Hammerhead and Danny the Angler Fish are Surface 71’s sculptures made out of trash from our ecosystem! In the past, they’ve been to the South Florida Science Center, the Palm Beach County History Museum, and Loggerhead Marina. Right now, they’re at Limestone Creek Elementary School, where students can earn service hours through various volunteer opportunities!

Surface 71 is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization run solely by high school students in Palm Beach County. We hold beach clean ups every month, providing valuable service hours, and have installed water refill stations in eleven local schools. Our mission is to raise awareness about plastic pollution and offer volunteer opportunities that help keep our cities and oceans cleaner and more beautiful.

















Plastic Free Florida is an initiative that encourages high school students in Palm Beach County to engage in volunteer opportunities aimed at reducing plastic waste while also earning their service hours.
