Creating art from single-use plastics and trash from our ecosystem displays the environmental issues we face in a dynamic way. Surface 71 creates and uses these sculptures we've created to help educate our community and create change!
Esmeralda and her friends Harry the Hammerhead and Danny the Angler Fish are Surface 71’s sculptures made out of trash from our ecosystem! In the past, they’ve been to the South Florida Science Center, the Palm Beach County History Museum, and Loggerhead Marina. Watch this video to learn more!
Follow as we move Esmeralda, with the help of some volunteers, to Limestone Creek Elementary School!
Right now, they’re at Limestone Creek Elementary School!
In a partnership with Solid Waste Authority, the Palm Beach County School District asked Surface71 to create the Recycle Mania Football Challenge trophy. This is a contest for PBC high schools, where the trophy will go to the school that recycles the most at their home games.
The trophy is made out of bottle caps and other plastics, and it will travel through the years as new schools with the Recycle Mania Football Challenge!
